Couples Counseling in Eagan MN for Conflict, Distance, and Rebuilding Trust
Most couples don't come to therapy because they've stopped caring. They come because the same patterns keep repeating and neither of them knows how to get out.
You keep having the same argument over and over.
You feel more like roommates than partners.
You feel unheard, misunderstood, or emotionally disconnected.
You're unsure how to move forward together.

Relationships rarely become stuck because couples stop loving one another.
More often, they become stuck because partners slowly...
- Stop feeling heard.
- Stop feeling understood.
- Stop sharing openly.
- Begin protecting themselves instead of reaching toward one another.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Serving Minnesota & Iowa
Throughout my life, I've found that people long to feel known, understood, and valued. When they no longer feel that way, they often begin protecting themselves in ways that unintentionally create more distance from the people they love most.
That belief has guided my work throughout my career and continues to shape how I work with couples today. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with advanced training in the Gottman Method, I help couples better understand themselves, each other, and the patterns that keep them feeling stuck.
I believe meaningful change begins with understanding. Because when people feel truly known, relationships begin to change.
Why Couples Choose Gottman Method Therapy in Eagan MN
When I decided to specialize in couples therapy, I wanted training that was grounded in research and provided practical tools that help couples create lasting change.
The Gottman Method is based on decades of research studying what helps relationships succeed and what causes them to struggle. Rather than simply helping couples communicate better, it provides a framework for strengthening friendship, managing conflict, rebuilding trust, and creating a deeper emotional connection.
I chose this approach because it aligns with what I believe: healthy relationships aren't built by avoiding conflict. They're built by learning to understand one another, navigate differences together, and continue investing in the relationship even during life's difficult seasons. While the Gottman Method anchors much of my work with couples, I also draw on other therapeutic approaches, tailoring our work to what each couple needs.
